1            Church Office - As you know, our valued Office Administrator, Tina Robinson, is retiring from St. Paul's as of Thursday, November 30th. The Ministry and Personnel Committee and Council of St. Paul's thank Tina for her service over the past 6 years. Elizabeth Sarginson has accepted the position of Office Administrator beginning November 22nd. Welcome Elizabeth!

Mark your calendar – We will be having a retirement party for Tina after church on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017. Please join us for this joyous occasion.

2            St. Paul’s Breakfast Club – Saturday, December 2nd, at 8:30 am – Sanderson Hall – Speaker – Dave Patterson, “The 1492 Guy”, talking about indigenous issues, dispelling myths, and expanding our knowledge and appreciation of the marvellous legacy given to the settlers from abroad in 1492, and passed on to us today.

3            Christmas Flower Fundraiser – If you ordered Poinsettias, please pick them up This Sunday is your last chance to place an order with Elizabeth Ward for Christmas poinsettias.

Sizes/prices:  6", 8", 10" pots - $10, $20, $30 respectively.

Colours:  red, pink, white.

Mum/poinsettia – red poinsettia & white mum only - $12.

Please have payment ready when ordering. Delivery on Saturday, December 2 from 9 a.m. to noon or after Church on Sunday.

4            Mission & Outreach Christmas Projects

Caring and Sharing

This is the third week that you can sign up to purchase a gift card from a grocery outlet, Walmart, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Giant Tiger or buy a movie pass. These gift cards will assist families who are experiencing financial difficulties over the Christmas Season. If the card is worth over $20 you will receive a tax receipt from The Region of Peel`s Christmas Wishes program. All cards must be returned to Sanderson Hall or the office by December 3rd. The card must be accompanied by the activation slip (or receipt) and the completed reminder slip.

Christmas Boxes 

The Mission & Outreach members will be handing out boxes in Sanderson Hall again this week. these boxes are for men or women who will be spending Christmas in a shelter. The box will be accompanied by a list of suggested items. The boxes are to be returned on or before Sunday, December 10th. This program is sponsored by The Salvation Army.

Wrapping Christmas Boxes

The Christmas Boxes will be wrapped on Monday, December 11th at 6:30 p.m. It is a fun activity in the Upper Room. Paper and tape are supplied and no experience needed. Please come and spend an hour having a good time.


5            With the announcements beginning at 9:55 a.m. and the service beginning at 10 a.m. on Sundays, we will be closing and locking the John Street Parking lot door and the Main Street South door (next to Jack's office) at 10 a.m. each Sunday from now on. Each Usher Captain will appoint a greeter to lock the doors at the appropriate time. The Sunday School teachers will ensure that the doors to their classroom are closed once the children are inside. These doors are to remain closed until after Service is completed when the designated person will unlock the Parking Lot door.


6            Bible Study facilitated by Wilma Cade every Friday at 1 p.m. in the Community Room. Wilma takes us through the weekly lectionary readings providing insight into the life and times of the Old Testament Hebrews and the early Christian church in the New Testament. It provides the opportunity to explore our faith and how these stories are relevant even today. Please come and join us.


7            The UCW Fall Presbyterial meeting is at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22nd at Richview United Church, 149 Wellesworth Dr, Etobicoke. The speaker is Karen Eade, Youth Minister at Islington United Church and is Chair of the Presbytery team for Youth and Young People and will speak about the goals of this project. All women are welcome. If interested, please contact Cathy Robertson.

8            The Book Club will be reading "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio, during October/November, for discussion at our meeting after church on November 26th. We will be obtaining 10 copies of “Women of Faith”, which we are reading in December/January and reviewing on Sunday, January 28th. If you are interested in reading this book, please contact Mary Sarginson and make sure you receive a copy. We look forward to having everyone interested join us after church on November 26th.

9            Circle of Friends Pot Luck is on Tuesday November 28th at noon in Sanderson Hall. The speaker is Allison Walker who will speak about her hobby " Metal Detecting". Remember to mark on your calendar with our annual Christmas Dinner on Dec. 12th.


10            Food Cupboard. The food cupboard needs canned pasta, tuna and Mr. Noodles as we are low on these items. We handed out 90 bags of food during the month of October.

11          Canadian Tire Money: The M&O ministry is looking for your Canadian Tire Money to use for our Christmas Projects. The box is on the table near the ramp on the main floor.

12          Did you know that your used postage stamps can help people with leprosy? Please put your used stamps in the box provided in the hall near the ramp.
